Two more tours scheduled for Eats on 118 June tour will feature different restaurants on the Ave

 

Last year’s Eats on 118 food tour, which encouraged people to try 118 Avenue area restaurants, was such a success that three tours are being held this year. April’s tour is already past, but two tours are scheduled for June 28 and August 30.

Fresh from opening, Zar Zor Restaurant, located on 121 Avenue and 90 Street, offers flavours drawing from long-ago Mesopotamia.

Mesopotamia is the ancient name for the land that once encapsulated large chunks of modern-day Iraq, Syria, and Turkey as well as slices of Iran and Kuwait. Mesopotamia made up a significant portion of the “cradle of civilization,” known for its rich soils that fed the first cities of early civilization.

Cooking up a culinary tour of Alberta Avenue Buy tickets to sample some of the Ave’s diverse cuisine

This September, Edmontonians have an opportunity to participate in four separate culinary tours of Alberta Avenue restaurants.

Joachim Holtz, executive director of Alberta Avenue Business Association (AABA), explained the idea for the pilot project started in January.
