SPRUCEWOOD BRANCH-EDMONTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

Everyone is welcome at the library. We would love to see you in the branch for our free classes and events!

Our popular Sing, Sign, Laugh and Learn is for ages 0-3 and encourages early literacy. It is a time for adults and their little ones to bond and learn. Sing, Sign, Laugh and Learn happens every Friday 10:30 – 11:15 am.

Baby Laptime is for little ones aged 0-12 months old. We offer this every Monday 10:30 – 11 am. It allows the same opportunities for bonding and learning, but in a calmer setting than Sing, Sign, Laugh and Learn. It is a great opportunity for new parents or caregivers to talk to other adults in similar situations and learn some songs and rhymes.

Our Preschool Problem Solvers class is perfect for four- and five-year-olds who are just getting ready to start school. It introduces shapes, colours, and classroom behaviour. This fun class is offered on Thursday 10:30 – 11 am. Parents may choose to participate, or let their child attend solo. All caregivers must remain in the library building for the duration of the 30-minute class, andregistration is required.

Drop-in Games are for all ages. Come by anytime and ask to use our Nintendo Switch console and games. If our program room is available, it’s all yours. We also have a fantastic variety of puzzles, LEGO, and tabletop games. Drop-in Games are also scheduled every Saturday from 12 – 4 pm.

STEAM Lab is for all our friends in elementary school and is offered every Thursday 3 – 4 pm. From robot battles to building your own games, kids can discover all things STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) with a different experience every week. For adults, we are offering Tech Time every Tuesday from 2 – 3 pm. Bring your device (or use one of ours) and come prepared with a tech-related question or challenge you would like to explore with a savvy staff member. We can help with troubleshooting, setting up new devices, adjusting settings, and managing files.

Our monthly Book Club is held on the first Wednesday of the month from 2 – 3 pm. Join us for lively conversation.

For more information, visit our website at epl.ca, call us at 780-496-7099, or come into the branch. We are at 11555-95 St. Use our computers, scan, and fax for free, and take advantage of our low-cost printing and photocopying.

Library cards are free for anyone who lives in Edmonton! If you sign your child under three years old up for a library card, they will get a free book.
